I’ve always felt that the Doctor would have a large conservatory stashed away somewhere. After all, he’s got to get his fresh fruits and veggies somewhere (but no pears, naturally)! The windows would filter out the harmful cosmic rays and only let in a reasonable amount of starlight, so one could sit in between the plants and gaze out upon a beautiful starscape (such as the 30 Doradus star-forming region of the Large Magellanic Cloud, pictured here).
(The conservatory is the MacMillan Bloedel Conservatory, photographed by Nathan Bauman. This is allowed under personal, noncommercial use. The Hubble Space Telescope photo of the 30 Doradus region is free for public usage.)
